Neuro-Affirming Mindfulness Course

Different nervous systems need different doorways into awareness.

A 6-module, self-paced course exploring mindfulness through the lens of nervous system diversity.

Mindfulness shouldn’t feel like a “should”.

I created this course after seventeen years of meditation experience, trying to find my own way through the practice as an undiagnosed neurodivergent person.

I loved silence and stillness—but I also hyperventilated when I focused on my breath. I wanted to feel calm, but I didn't always understand my emotions. My body was uncomfortable. My brain was full of thoughts.

Any of this sound familiar?

Over time, I began to understand that the problem wasn't that I was doing mindfulness wrong. Different nervous systems simply experience awareness differently.

Mindfulness is something we have a relationship with. And I want to help you find a practice you can genuinely love.

There isn't one “right” way to meditate.

Many common meditation instructions carry assumptions about what attention, stillness, sensory experience, emotional regulation, or even awareness itself should feel like.

Neuro-affirming meditation starts with your unique nervous system.

Some things that can complicate mindfulness

  • Attention doesn't always work the way meditation instructions assume

  • Stillness may regulate some nervous systems and dysregulate others

  • Sensory and body awareness can be supportive, intense, or difficult to access

  • Structure can help—or create pressure

  • Traditional instructions can leave people feeling like they're doing it “wrong”

And some things we might discover

  • Unique ways of sensing and noticing

  • Deep focus and immersion

  • Pattern recognition

  • Emotional and sensory depth

  • Creativity and imaginal thinking

  • Existential insight, wonder, and meaning

A Different Way Into Mindfulness

The Neuro-Affirming Mindfulness Course is a six-module exploration of mindfulness through the lens of nervous system diversity.

Rather than giving you another set of rules about how you should meditate, we'll explore how you experience attention, sensory input, movement, structure, connection, meaning, and awareness.

Throughout the course, you'll learn to understand your own neurotype dimensions, experiment with different forms of meditation, recognize patterns of reactivity, and adapt mindfulness to better meet your nervous system's needs.

There is no ideal nervous system for mindfulness, and there is no single correct doorway into awareness.

This course is about finding yours.
